The Tech Tour Cleantech Summit 2016 will take place November 23-24, 2016 hosted by the City of Rotterdam. Tech Tour invites all Cleantech companies in Europe to apply for a chance to present at the 5th edition of the event, which will convene over 150 leading actors and investors from the international tech scene seeking to invest in Cleantech. The Tech Tour Selection Committee will choose 20 high-performing growth companies and 20 emerging companies to present at the event.

The energy industry has been fundamentally disrupted by renewables in the last 15 years. Cleantech and sustainability will impact many other sectors” said Fredrik Adams, President of the 2016 edition of the summit. André Moreira, Vice President and Head of the Selection Committee added, “The problems that Cleantech companies tackle are fundamental for our future. Europe is at the forefront of these developments and the Cleantech Summit will showcase this”.

Companies are invited to submit in one of 4 sectors which will be the focus of this year’s event:

  • Sustainable Energy: including sustainable energy generation and storage, and the production of solar, wind, and other renewables
  • High Tech Systems and Materials: including manufacturing, industry 4.0, new materials and data
  • Circular Economy: including recycling and agri-tech
  • Maritime and Offshore: including transport, mobility, and logistics

The Tech Tour Cleantech Summit returns for the 3rd time to Rotterdam, one of the most innovative cities in Europe and a hub for Cleantech innovation. This event is unique in Europe as it regroups all subsectors of clean technology under one collaborative platform, bringing together growth companies with investors and industry experts over the course of two days. There is a critical need for enhanced collaboration and support for clean technology innovation, and the Summit will tackle how venture capital can cooperate with city authorities, corporates and family offices to make this happen.

The past 3 editions of the Summit have helped presenting companies raise over 205 million euros, with overall funding exceeding 670 million euros through all 5 editions. All selected companies and general participants will have the unique chance to build vital connections with attending industry experts, VIPs, and corporates.

Eligibility Criteria:

The selection of companies is based on merit only, and applicants must be headquartered in Europe to be eligible to apply. Applicants will be assessed on the uniqueness of their technology, the strength of their business model, vision, and capability to execute on the business plan and the quality and track record of their management. Submissions will be reviewed by the selection committee, which is comprised of senior business leaders from various backgrounds including venture capital, technology and research, who will choose 20 high-performing growth companies and 20 emerging companies to present at the event.
